The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a significant financial toll on our Central Coast community. Many suffered from cut hours at work or have lost their jobs all together, placing an undue burden on families and individuals. As a result, many face challenges in keeping their furry members of their family well fed and taken care of.
Thankfully, nonprofit organizations like C.A.R.E.4Paws are providing pet care services for low income families in the Central Coast. C.A.R.E.4Paws distributes bags of pet food and offers a mobile spay/neuter clinic as well as flea treatment and deworming. They also provide programs to help domestic violence survivors find safety for their pets when they leave an abusive situation as well as provide pet services for the homeless.
The services provided by C.A.R.E.4Paws are in demand now more than any other time in their history. Their mission of helping families stay together with their furry friends in times of crisis is crucial to the well-being of our community.
The Roots Dispensary is proud to announce that we partnered up with C.A.R.E.4Paws to gather pet food donations throughout the month of August. We strongly believe in the mission of the organization and appreciate the hard work they have done for our community. Our donation drive was very successful and we were able to donate over 50 lbs of fresh pet food.
